I have mentioned before how the golf throw shares the same body sequence as that of the baseball or football throw. I have also explained how our vestibular system automatically controls the complex body movements involved in the throw if we simply visualize it.
Today, I thought I would attempt to hit the golf ball using a pure throwing motion with my right arm only, as if I were throwing a baseball. It was awkward at first, but I got the hang of it. I could tell right away that my torso and lower body were making much better turns, and in proper sequence.
This right-arm-only drill also trains your brain to control the clubface going into impact. The left arm and hand can screw up the downswing. The right hand should be the captain of the ship.
I have been alive for 51-years. I think these swings today were the most complex and graceful things my brain has ever produced athletically.
