First Round of 2024

September 13, 2024- by Steven Greer

I had my first round of golf for 2024. I went to the Palm Beach Par 3 public course one the ocean ( I don’t count the 60-yard wedge course at The Park). This course has holes as long as 200-yards. It is a good test of your irons, and beautiful.

This year, I have not even been to driving ranges because I use my backyard. I have not putted on a real green more than once when I was at The Park.

The green were aerated, super slow, and bumpy. Despite that, my indoor work paid off.

On the 9th hole, I had about 15-feet for birdie. I told my partner, “Pay attention. I am going to sink this”, and I did. I had several putts die short because the greens were so slow.

This move where I flex the left wrist in the backswing, or the P2 of putting, is giving me great putter path.

My full swing was no good until the last four holes or so. I started to hit great punch shots from 170 to 130-yards. My work to get left hip external rotation like a baseball or football throw is working.
